TCI (Telecommunication Company of Iran)¶
TCI (Telecommunication Company of Iran, شرکت مخابرات ایران) is one of Iran's largest fixed-line and broadband Internet service providers, and one of the four named operators (TCI, IranCell, RighTel, MCCI) whose traffic Cloudflare Radar tracks via per-ASN breakdown when reporting on Iran's nationwide Internet shutdowns and restorations.
TCI was one of the four operators showing simultaneous traffic increases on May 26, 2026 — the first day of the partial restoration of Iran's February 28 2026 nationwide shutdown, 87 days into the disruption. The simultaneous rise across TCI + IranCell + RighTel + MCCI ruled out a single-network artefact and confirmed the recovery was a country-wide event across the major access operators (though heavily Tehran- localised — see concepts/capital-localized-internet-restoration).
Per-AS view¶
Cloudflare Radar measures TCI traffic at the ASN granularity. The per-AS view is accessible through Cloudflare Radar's network search by AS lookup or by navigating the per-country (radar.cloudflare.com/ir) network breakdown.
Role in shutdown / restoration observability¶
For external observers, simultaneous activity across all four named Iranian operators is one of the strongest signals that a nationwide shutdown is in effect or being lifted. Because each operator has independent transit + edge infrastructure, synchronous behaviour can only be the result of state- coordinated policy (filtering, whitelisting, or BGP withdrawal at the country level) — not coincidental operational events.
