Workers for Platforms

Definition

Workers for Platforms is Cloudflare's offering for deploying Workers at scale on behalf of many users — the model behind platforms where customers/employees prototype and deploy their own applications. Every deployed Worker lives inside a namespace, and all traffic to that namespace flows through a single entry point: the dispatch Worker. The dispatch Worker routes incoming requests to the correct user Worker within its namespace. (Source: sources/2026-08-14-cloudflare-secure-all-your-internal-vibe-coded-applications-in-one-click)

Dispatch Worker as a policy choke point

Because all namespace traffic passes through the dispatch Worker, it is a natural single control point. Setting a Cloudflare Access policy on the dispatch Worker makes every Worker deployed through it private by default — the platform operator configures auth once and inherits it across all tenant deployments (patterns/central-proxy-choke-point, account-wide-default-policy). Cloudflare open-sourced an internal-sites-template example: a drag-and-drop internal static-site platform where every site deployed through the dispatcher is private by default.
