Rovo Studio¶
Rovo Studio is Atlassian's automation-authoring surface within the Rovo family. On this wiki the relevant role is as the dispatcher in Atlassian's Dispatcher → Coding Agent → Closer agentic-automation loop: a scheduled Rovo Studio automation rule that queries Jira for eligible maintenance work items and triggers a coding-agent pipeline run for each.

Role as the dispatcher¶
In the feature-flag-cleanup workflow:
"A scheduled Rovo Studio Automation rule queries Jira for open flag-cleanup tickets that are stale and eligible for automated code removal. For each one it finds, it triggers the coding agent as a Bitbucket Pipelines run, passing the ticket key in as context."
Key properties surfaced in the source:
- Scheduled trigger. The rule runs on a schedule — no human has to remember to invoke anything; "the work finds the agent."
- Jira query as the work-finder. It selects open, stale, automation-eligible flag-cleanup tickets — the eligibility filter that decides which items get an agent.
- Fan-out. It "fans out across however many eligible tickets exist and runs agents in parallel," passing each ticket key as context to a separate Bitbucket Pipelines run.
It removes the repeated manual startup work of hunting for stale flags and kicking off cleanup runs.
