Overture Maps¶

Overture Maps is an open-source geospatial dataset stewarded by the Overture Maps Foundation, with Meta and Microsoft as founding contributors. It provides authoritative, deduplicated, license-permissive global places / addresses / buildings / transportation data, intended as a foundation for downstream geospatial applications without per-record licence fees.

Overture Maps provides the authoritative location anchor for VF Match's healthcare-facility catalog: deduplicated, cross-validated geographic ground truth for facility records. Paired with web-scraped contextual evidence (current operating status / specialties / equipment), the joined records form a facility catalog with both authoritative geometry and current operational details.

The pairing is the canonical two-complementary-data-sources shape the VF Match FDR pipeline canonicalises: Overture for where, scraped pages for what and now, joined via Splink entity resolution.
