GitHub Models

Definition

GitHub Models is GitHub's model access surface — a marketplace/gateway through which applications call hosted models (including vision models). Access requires a token scoped to GitHub Models. (Source: sources/2026-08-24-github-your-alt-text-passes-automated-checks-that-doesnt-mean-its-any-good)

  • The alt-text plugin's opt-in alt-text-quality rule sends the image, its alt, and extracted page context to a vision model through GitHub Models.
